"Announcement: Inaugural 'Love & Liberation Daily' Writing Contest"

Hello, writers!

I’m excited to announce love & liberation daily’s inaugural writing contest!

This contest is unique in that it has no word limit and no specific topic requirement. You are free to explore any topic or subject that inspires you.

I want to read about whatever is most exciting, necessary, and compelling to you. This contest is open to poets, fiction writers, creative non-fiction writers, and anyone who loves the written word.

The winner (first prize) will have their short story, poem, or essay published in love & liberation daily, e-mailed out directly to LLD’s 1,300+ subscribers, and receive a $100 prize (payable via Venmo or PayPal) for their contribution.

Second and third-place winners will receive honorary mentions and will also be published in love & liberation daily, available online only.

Rules and requirements for entry:

To be considered for this contest, you must:

• Re-post this contest announcement via notes on Substack.

• Ensure you subscribe to love & liberation daily no later than 11:59 PM EST on December 31, 2023.

• Submit your contest entry to alexlopezwrites@gmail.com no later than 11:59 PM EST on December 31, 2023.

• Submit your work in size 12 font, Times New Roman, double-spaced.

• There is no fee to enter. You may only enter once per contest period.

My aim with this contest is to create more regular and accessible opportunities for writers to earn money and publish their work to a large audience, especially for writers who haven't yet garnered a large readership on Substack.

My goal is to host this contest every other month throughout 2024. While my goal is to amplify and support upcoming writers, writers at all stages of their careers are welcome to enter this contest.

I will have a ten-day reading and deliberation period from January 1st to January 10th and will send an email notifying the winners on January 10th.

The first-place prize winner will also be paid on that day via PayPal or Venmo. At that time, the winner will be asked to provide a bio and photo to accompany their submission for publication.

Publication details:

The first-place winner will be published on Substack and mailed directly on Monday, January 15th to love & liberation daily’s audience of over 1,300 loyal readers. This audience includes many famous novelists, writing professors, publishers, and editors. It is an excellent opportunity for exposure and garnering new readership.

The first-place piece will also be promoted on the love and liberation daily’s TikTok account, which at the time of writing has 43,200+ followers and over 13,700,000 channel likes. This past year alone, the TikTok account has received hundreds of millions of views. This is another great opportunity for exposure and connecting with new readers.

Second and third-place winners will not receive payment, but will still have their pieces published in love & liberation daily (web-only) & promoted on LLD’s various socials, including TikTok.

Note: love & liberation daily is growing fast! At a rate of nearly 100+ new subscribers each week. This means that the winning piece will likely be directly delivered to ~2,000 or more writers, authors, publishers, and editors at the time of publication.
